Small Groups in the Bible and Church History

First of all, it is crucially important to seek for the small/cell group movement from the Bible. And the biblical and theological foundations for small group should be raid on for church growth. In so doing, the observation of the small group movements must be started from the creation of God (Nicholas et al. 1982, 27), and then the ages of the Old Testament and the New Testament. This is an accepted formula in the biblical method on the small group movement. And the consequential history of the small group movements may be considered. The consecutive process of this observation must be considered for the purpose of laying the biblical foundations of the small group movements (McBride 1993, 13).

Biblical and Theological Foundations for Small groups

The most thing needed to know as a pastor and a small group leader is the biblical and theological foundations for their ministry (McBride 1990, 13). In fact, the small group ministry is based on a rock-hard biblical foundation (McBride 1990, 13). Prior to the study on the foundations for the small group movements in the age of the Old Testament and of the age of the New Testament it is very important to involve consideration from the creation of God because God created and address humanity as group with group (Icenogle 1994, 21).
