Proceed for the Bible Interpretation (2)

(5) Take notes (³ëÆ®¿¡ ±â·ÏÇ϶ó)

Write down what you observe. Ideas that exists only in your mind may be muddy, but if you put them into the words you can make them clear. Do not try to fit things(what has been observed) together as(when) you first note them.

(6) Think and analyze (»ý°¢ÇÏ°í ºÐ¼®Ç϶ó)

When you have read the portion a number of times and have written down many observations, then you can mediate on them. Seek to get the meaning of the various facts. (ÅÃÇÑ ºÎºÐÀº ¿©·¯ ¹ø ÀÐ°í °üÂûÇÑ ³»¿ëÀ» ±â·ÏÇÑ ÈÄ¿¡ ±×µé¿¡ °üÇØ ¹¬»óÇÑ´Ù. ±×¸®°í ¿©·¯ »ç°ÇÀÇ Àǹ̸¦ ã¾Æ¶ó):

¨ç Who is the messenger? Of course, he is John the Baptist.

¨è Whose way did he prepare? Of course, Christ's way.

¨é Then Christ must be the Lord! Of course, that's right.

¨ê How were those who repented and took John's baptism made ready for Christ's coming?

◉ What did John's message in verse 7-8 accomplish? Meditating in this way brings you the meaning of the text.

(7) Use the principles of interpretation (Çؼ®ÀÇ ¿øÄ¢À» »ç¿ëÇ϶ó)

Apply them as you continue studying that passage. We will consider these principles in the following section. (±× ±¸ÀýÀ» °è¼Ó ¿¬±¸ÇÏ¿© Àû¿ëÇ϶ó. Çؼ®ÀÇ ¿ø¸®µéÀº ´ÙÀ½ ºÎºÐ¿¡¼ ´Ù·ê °ÍÀÌ´Ù)

(8) Apply the meaning of the passage (±¸ÀýÀÇ Àǹ̸¦ Àû¿ëÇ϶ó)

That is, consider its relevance to your own life and to the church today. (ÀÌ°ÍÀº ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ »ýÈ°°ú ±³È¸¿¡ °ü·Ã½ÃÄѼ »ý°¢ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÌ´Ù)

Be sure you have clearly in mind the difference between interpretation and application. (Çؼ®°ú Àû¿ëÀÇ Â÷À̸¦ ºÐ¸íÈ÷ Ç϶ó)

When you interpret, you get the meaning of the passage and express this without reference to any certain person. (Çؼ®ÇÒ ¶§, ±× ±¸ÀýÀÇ ¶æÀ» Æ÷ÂøÇÏ°í ¾î¶² »ç¶÷¿¡°Ôµç »ó°ü¾øÀÌ À̸¦ Ç¥ÇöÇÑ´Ù)

When you apply, you identify how you should personally respond. The first is what God has said. The second is what God wants you to do. You must not forget, in fact, interpretation is one, application are many. (Àû¿ëÇÒ ¶§, °³ÀÎÀûÀ¸·Î ¾î¶»°Ô ¹ÝÀÀÇÏ´Â °¡¸¦ È®ÀÎÇÑ´Ù. ¸ÕÀú È®ÀÎÇÒ °ÍÀº Çϳª´Ô²²¼ ¾î¶»°Ô ¸»¾¸Çϼ̴°¡ ÀÌ´Ù. ´ÙÀ½À¸·Î Çϳª´Ô²²¼ ´ç½ÅÀÌ Çϱ⸦ ¿øÇϽô °ÍÀÌ ¹«¾ùÀΰ¡ ÀÌ´Ù. Çؼ®Àº ÇϳªÀÌÁö¸¸, Àû¿ëÀº ¿©·µÀ̶ó´Â »ç½ÇÀ» ÀØÁö ¸»¾Æ¾ß ÇÑ´Ù)

In this sense, the narrative story in the Bible is the applied truth, and preaching is the reapplied truth. (ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ Àǹ̿¡¼, ¼º°æÀÇ À̾߱â´Â Àû¿ëµÈ Áø¸®À̸ç, ¼³±³´Â Àç Àû¿ëµÈ Áø¸®ÀÌ´Ù)
