[The Christian Apologetics]: The System of Christian Truth (02)
PAUL JANG  2012-02-29 18:51:51, hit : 3,273

CHAPTER I

THE SYSTEM OF CHRISTIAN TRUTH
(±âµ¶±³ Áø¸®ÀÇ Ã¼°è)

Apologetics is the vindication of the Christian philosophy of life against the various forms of the non-Christian philosophy of life.

(1) It is frequently said that apologetics deals with theism, while evidences deals with Christianity. For that reason, it is said, apologetics deals with philosophy while evidences deals with facts.

(2) Apologetics does deal with theism more that it deals with Christianity, and evidences does deals with Christianity more than it deals with theism. For that reason, apologetics deals mostly with philosophy and evidences deals mostly with facts.

(3) But the whole matter is a question of emphasis.
1) That the whole question can be no more than one of emphasis and never one of separation is due to the fact that Christian theism is a unit.

2) Christianity and theism are implied in one another.
¨ç Why Christ came into the world?
He came to save His people from sins.

¨è But what is sin?
It is \" Any want of conformity unto, or transgression of, the law of God.\"

¨é And who or what is God?

3) We may, therefore, perhaps conceive of the vindication of Christian theism as a whole to modern warfare. (about concept and nature of God, Christ, the sins of man and so on)
(4) Christianity can be never be separated from some theory about the existence and nature of God, The result is that Christian theism must be thought of as a unit.

(5) In short, there is an historical and there is a philosophical aspect to the defense of Christian theism.

(6) Evidences deals with largely with the historical while apologetics deals with largely with the philosophical aspect.

(7) Each has its own work to do but they should constantly be in touch with one another. (Ex. The study of the anatomy of the snake must be taken place in a laboratory/ the sinful act of snake in the Bible)
